Home/Leadership
Executive committee
Eight officers run this company. Six of them came up through the field, and all eight carry a portfolio with delivery attached to it. When a project goes sideways at two in the morning, one of these names is on the call.
Leadership
Average tenure in the industry is 27 years; average tenure at Ironwood is 16. Portfolios are shown as they stand today.

How it runs
Each office carries its own field leadership, estimating group and safety staff, and the people running a job have the authority to stop it. What they do not have is the authority to sign for it alone.
Bid and no-bid calls are made by the chief executive and the chief financial officer together, with the responsible regional lead in the room. Anything above the bonding threshold goes to the capital committee, which reviews the balance sheet position, the schedule risk and the surety's view before a proposal leaves the building.
The executive committee meets weekly, and the agenda is fixed: safety events first, then delivery risk on active work, then commercial position. Project reviews rotate through the committee so that every active contract above a material threshold is walked through by the people running it, in front of the people accountable for it.
Every superintendent, every foreman and every craft worker on an Ironwood site can stop work for a safety concern without asking anyone's permission first. Nobody has ever been disciplined here for using it. Two people have been commended for it in the last twelve months.
Accountability
Ownership does not make a company self-policing. These are the structures that do the work.
01
The board includes independent directors alongside the executive committee, and the ESOP trustee holds the share register on behalf of employees. Executive pay, capital allocation and any change of control go through the board, not through the officers alone.
02
Safety performance reaches the board and the trustee directly from the safety group, on the same cadence as the financial pack. Near misses are reported with the same seriousness as recordable events, and the numbers are not edited on the way up.
03
Annual financial statements are audited by an outside firm, and the surety reviews the balance sheet and the backlog independently of management. Both have the standing to raise a concern with the board without going through the chief executive.
Contact
New work is routed by discipline and by region, so the first conversation is usually with the officer who would carry the contract. Call the switchboard, or send the details and we will put the right person on it.
Our receptionist answers in under two seconds, day or night, and takes the full enquiry. Bids and prequalification requests can also be sent to bids@ironwoodgroups.com.
