Every call answered

Call us. Somebody, or something, always picks up.

Our switchboard answers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Outside office hours you will reach our automated receptionist, which takes your details, schedules a call-back with the right estimator and files a transcript to our dispatch team.

Main switchboard, 24 hours

(303) 555-0142

Bids, proposals, project enquiries and general questions. Answered by a person Monday to Friday 07:00–18:00 Mountain, and by our automated receptionist at all other times.

Emergency response, 24/7/365

(303) 555-0199

For incidents on an active Ironwood site, utility strikes, or a client emergency that requires a crew. Rings the on-call duty manager directly, no menu, no queue.

Toll free, United States & Canada

(800) 555-0177

Reaches the same switchboard as the main number. Provided for suppliers and clients calling from outside the Denver area code.

What happens when you call

  1. It answers immediately. No hold music, no call-back queue, no "your call is important to us".
  2. You are told you are speaking to an automated receptionist, and that the call is recorded and transcribed for our records. You can ask for a human being at any point and be transferred.
  3. You describe what you need in your own words. There is no menu tree. If you are reporting a hazard or an injury, it escalates immediately to the on-call duty manager.
  4. It captures the details, project type, location, scope, budget range, programme dates and your contact information, and reads them back so you can correct anything.
  5. You get a call-back booked with the right preconstruction lead, at a time you choose, plus an email or text confirmation with a reference number.
  6. A full transcript lands with dispatch within seconds, tagged by market and urgency, so nothing depends on anyone's memory of the conversation.

Calls to the main switchboard are answered by our automated receptionist, which can take project details, book a call-back with an estimator, or put you through to dispatch. Ask to speak to a person at any time, or ask us to delete the recording, both are honoured without question.

Request a bid

Prefer to write it down?

Send us the outline and we will come back with an honest answer on whether we are pursuing it, usually within one business day.

We would rather tell you early that a job is not a fit than waste three weeks of your bid period producing a number we do not believe. If it is not a fit, we will tell you who on our shortlist to call instead.

Include the country code if you are outside the United States.

The more awkward detail you include, the more useful our first response will be.

Urgent? Call (303) 555-0142 and a person will pick up in under two seconds, day or night.

Frequently asked

Questions, grouped by who is asking.

Twelve questions we get repeatedly, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Email bids@ironwoodgroups.com with your company profile, trade classification, bonding capacity and three references. Our preconstruction team reviews new subcontractor and supplier applications monthly and will confirm your classification in writing.

Bidding & Suppliers

Yes. We self-perform earthwork, structural concrete, structural steel, deep foundations, mechanical and piping, and electrical and instrumentation work as a subcontractor to other primes, particularly on projects outside our four core markets.

Bidding & Suppliers

Our surety programme supports $750M single-project and $1.5B aggregate bonding capacity through an A+ XV rated, Treasury-listed surety. We can provide letters of bonding capacity on request within one business day.

Bidding & Suppliers

Every brownfield project begins with a joint risk assessment alongside the facility operator, producing a project-specific safety plan and permit-to-work matrix before mobilisation. We staff a dedicated Site Safety and Health Officer on any project over 200,000 hours, and we work to the operator's permit system, not ours.

Safety & Quality

The Experience Modification Rate is an insurance industry measure comparing a contractor's injury record to its peers; 1.00 is average, and lower is better. Our three-year rolling EMR is 0.61, which lowers our workers' compensation cost and, more importantly, is the clearest evidence we can offer that our safety programme is real rather than a document.

Safety & Quality

Yes. All work carries a standard one-year warranty in addition to any longer manufacturer or specified warranty, and we administer warranty claims directly rather than routing them through a subcontractor. Structural and waterproofing warranties extend to the period specified in the contract documents.

Safety & Quality

Yes. Since 2014 the majority of the company has been held by an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, which means every eligible employee is a shareholder at no cost to them. It is the single largest reason our field leadership tenure averages eleven years.

Company

Ironwood was founded in Denver in 2001 and has operated continuously since. We have worked in 34 states, four Canadian provinces and four countries.

Company

Our emergency line at (303) 555-0199 is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Calls to the main switchboard after hours are answered by our automated receptionist, which will take your details and page the on-call duty manager immediately.

Company

Yes, and we prefer to. Our registered apprenticeship programmes in operating engineering, ironwork, carpentry and electrical take candidates with no prior trade experience, pay a wage from day one and provide paid classroom instruction. Applications open each February for a summer intake.

Careers

For field leadership, engineering and professional roles, yes, typically a lump sum or a managed relocation package. Many of our projects also carry per diem and rotational schedules for candidates who prefer to travel rather than relocate.

Careers

We actively recruit transitioning service members and veterans, particularly for field supervision and safety roles. Our Federal Programs group is led by a retired U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officer, and we participate in SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes.
